Some of our readers may not be aware that Ben Swain (Senior Lawyer at Local Government Legal) is an Australian cycling champion in his spare time.
At the Para-cycling Track National Championships in Melbourne in December 2014 Ben claimed Gold in the 2015 Australian Para-cycling Track Pursuit (C4). Ben defeated Ben Ellen from Queensland who at the same meet had set a new Australian Record in the 1 km Time Trial.
Our Ben also claimed Silver in the 1 km Individual Time Trial and Bronze on 14 December 2014 in the 4 km Pursuit at the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) level Para-cycling event. He is now in training for the National Road Championships to be held April 2015 in Adelaide with a view to representing Australia at the Paralympics.
